Improvement are unlikely to come until the AML S9xx gets complete mainline Linux Kernel support sometime this year.

That gives some reason for hope, thank you.

Numerous (non HEVC) TvHeadend users get better results using TvHeadend V4.0
Unfortunately that's not an option. HEVC is a nightmare with tvheadend 4.0 (or kodi < 17.0?).

And Mainline AML S9xx Linux Kernel support is picking up steam already.

Neil Armstrong from BayLibre has started testing LE on the C2 already. Software decoding only at this stage.

BayLibre have been contracted by AMLogic to bring the AML Linux S9xx Kernel up to modern v4.1+ status.

v4.1+ looks like v4.1.y

4.1 would be great but 4.10.y+ is even better :)

Can someone please be so kind and tell me what the difference between this Image here and the one from https://libreelec.tv/ (for Hardkernels Odroid C2) named "LibreELEC-Odroid_C2.aarch64-8.0.1.img" is?

The built on libreelec.tv and here are still using a 3.14 kernel. The difference is that wrxtasy has compiled in a lot of media hardware drivers. Among them are some of the USB DVB-T2 sticks required to watch TV here in Germany after Mar. 29. 2017.
You can find a short description from wrxtasy in the first post of this threat:
This is a Mish-mash of a media_build, pulling in all sorts of tweaks, twerks and personal touches from AML LE devs @Raybuntu, @kszaq, @cvh, @popcornmix, @kwiboo, @codesnake and the AML Video Sync master blaster @peak3d !

Hello,

TechnoTrend TT-connect S2-4600 works with this build (and really needs backported drivers).

Problems I noticed:
  • Using TV remote via CEC leads to problems with the LiveTV which are also present in the recorded file.
  • have constantly continuity errors in TVHeadend (might be due to poor signal tho?)
  • rarely display errors (without pressing CEC remote ofc) in LiveTV playback (also timeshifted) which are magically not in the recording

Is an update to Kodi 17.1 planned and/or 64-bit build? :)

Anyway, thank you for this build. There is no real dealbreaker in this build and it works mostly as expected. Also the first time that my DVB-S2 tuner works. :)

Ups, sorry. just found the link for the zip-file. Maybe you should include it in your first post...

Installed the image. When trying to install tvheadend from libreelec repository, kodi tells me "Could connect to repository". Is this an issue with this image, or are the servers down?

Droid is connected, I'll be able to install some other kodi-addons for example. I was just installing this image to use my "HMP-Combo DVB C/T2 Hybrid USB TUNER", which is similar to this one:

http://www.dvbsky.net/Products_T330.html

Thanks for support!

Hello,
i have a problem with Odroid C2 and LibreELEC-Odroid_C2.arm-8.0.WRX-RB-Media_build.01.img.gz.

I wanted to start a movie (12,5GB) from the USB 3.0 hard drive (with external power), but the C2 restarts. The same problem I get when I want to install an addon.

I have LibreELEC already reinstalliert on the SD map made, same error remains.
SD card> Intenso micro SD UHS-1 <

Can someone help me? Is there a solution?

Sorry I'm from Germany and this text is Translate with Google.

P.s. I have a Odroid C1+ with OpenELEC + Kodi 16.1 and no problems.

My bet would be power supply issues. How much can your power supply deliver and what external (USB) devices are connected?

Only a USB Mouse for first configurations (Samba), after i use my Smartphone (Android) with "Kore" Remote app.

I have no idea, what the problem with this image here. i have multiple reinstalled this image.

I have use the LibreELEC image from https://libreelec.tv/ and now no problems.

Do you have that problem without any further peripherals (just using CEC/Chorus for example)?
Did you do this? Especially the part with bs=4M and sync. I guess you did, but want to make sure :)
Did you try another SD card?

According you your own link there, it is resolved and since then you've never submitted a debug log or so. How could and would anybody work on that? Do you have a test-file that you could provide here?

Did you test raybuntus or wrxtasys 32bit builds?

No I didn't I tested 64 builds.

So why do you write here in this thread and demand a solution for your issue, if you even didn't test the build that is provided here? Behind the link you posted, there was the user "zaphod24", who told you that his issue got solved by using raybuntus 32bit version, which he also linked to. If you haven't tried raybuntus 32bit build, or wrxtasys 32bit build here, why do you write that you want to have the issue solved!? First try out the builds here and then start writing something constructive, so that raybuntu or wrxtasy or somebody else can do something about it. If zaphod24 at your linked forum.libreelec.tv post was right, then the issue is solved for almost 3 months now.

I have been using this build for a while now and love it!

Two questions:
- Anyone know if Bluetooth Module 2 + wireless head phones will work?
- The EDL fix in Kodi v17.1 would be nice. Any plans for 17.1 or a recommended upgrade path (eventually)?

Hello
I am trying to use rtc shield on this build.
modprobe aml_i2c gives me modprobe: FATAL: Module aml_i2c not found in directory /lib/modules/3.14.29

Does it mean rtc is not supported ? Is there a way to have it work ?

Thanks

I have not used the media build .at in a while, but from memory I changed back to the LE official 32bit Repo somewhere around this update:

LibreELEC-Odroid_C2.arm-8.0.MB.02.FRA.Fix.tar

Previously I was using Raybuntu's 32bit LE Repo until he moved it. But even then I was having all sorts of problems with updated versions of TvHeadend he was using for some reason.

manuel7511@gmail.com,
Yes the HDHomeRun PVR Client is included with LE Kodi Krypton.

Exist2Resist,
No support for 3D MVC/ISO anything with any version of LE 8.x.x Krypton. Not many devs. have 3D TV's either (inc. me)

@everyone,
I will try and do a further media_build update this weekend to bring it up to Kodi 17.1 status and try to address all previously mention issues.

Hello

I'm using the LibreELEC-Odroid_C2.arm-8.0.MB.02.FRA.Fix.tar version (just updated) but I'm getting again the "fluo" problem on SONY TV.

Is the fix present in this version?
Should I go back to a previous version to fix it?

thanks for any information :)

I've noticed two strange things in 8.0.MB.02.FRA.Fix build:
1) when using fast forward at x4 my AVR / TV loses video signal at random moments (effect similar to refresh rate change). At x8 is even worse. My AVR / TV are very slow at resyncing after regaining signal - it takes about 4s, so the problem is very annoying (for "normal" users ;) )
2) Kodi GUI seems to be slow, much less responsive than jarvis. I've tried to monitor CPU usage, but it never go very high. In fact two cores are offline all the time ?!?. The governor is at performance..

have anyone noticed such problems?

Hi @wrxtasy,

Do you think to make a new build with kodi updates ? For me, it's the best build, because there is no problem with audio sync. I have a delay (250 ms) with the @Raybuntu's builds.

Thank you for your work.

Definitely there is sth wrong with the governor: I changed to 'interactive' and surprise: all cores are up now. I think that switching cores off at performance should not happen.

Can anyone confirm the issue?

Log in with ssh, check current governor settings with
Code: Select all
LibreELEC:~ # cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor
performance

then type 'top' and then press '1'. There should be sth like

Hey folks. First time I'm moving to a non-x64 platform so forgive my naivete. I use MythTV as a PVR which works perfectly with OpenElec or Kodi on Linux and Mac, but I cannot seem to find the MythTV PVR add-on in this platform. Needless to say, I'll have to roll back to my Intel Kaby Lake system (which I wanted to repurpose) if I cannot make it work... any suggestions?

On a separate note, I can say the quality of the H.265 decoding in the Odroid C2 is fantastic!

Install (from .zip) Raybuntu's 32bit LE Addons Repo, it should be in there:

repository.rbrepo-8.1.1_Odroid_C2.zip

64bit Binaries will not run on 32bit versions on LibreELEC, and vice versa. Addons will have to be re-downloaded if flipping between 32bit <-->>64bit.

Thanks. I can confirm the MythTV plugin works as expected. I had one freeze that required a reboot during one automatic commercial skipping event, but I haven't been able to replicate it, so I don't know if there is a pattern or not.

I did see one other unrelated issue that I wanted to bring up. For some unknown reason, two of the files I have will not only not play but completely freeze the box requiring a hard reboot. I captured the mkvinfo output of those files to see if you guys see anything suspicious here:
Code: Select all
mkvinfo ~/Desktop/file1.mkv

|+ EBML version: 1
|+ EBML read version: 1
|+ EBML maximum ID length: 4
|+ EBML maximum size length: 8

This occurs every single time. The files are playable in the Kodi app in my Mac with no problems whatsoever. Any hint?

Any sign of a kodi 17.1 Version?? I know you said a week or so back it was imminent. Did I miss it at all?

Hi,

yesterday i made clean install with main_build.01 and instantly updated to media_build.02

My new tuner Mygica t230 worked fine in tvheadend but i was getting only 2.0 or 2.1 output instead the setting where changed to 5.1-output.
With either PCM or HDMI output in settings i got showed only PCM on my AV-Receiver (Teufel Decoderstation 7.1) and my rear boxes doesnt worked. The "passthrough"-Parameter seems to Change nothing.

Is there any setting which i could set to enable 5.1 output? My Testfile was a movie with DTS 5.1 sound. Today i will test with official Kodi-Sample-Files and report...

This evening i tested file #11 from http://kodi.wiki/view/Samples, DTS-HD MA 5.1.
No output within rear boxes. If i make a debug log, could it help? Is there any output to logfile regarding audio output?

Thanks in advance

Edit: regular libreelec works perfect, no issues.

As the title of this thread is saying: "Krypton final" so I think this is the end of that project and there will be no more updates (Kodi 17.1) in this build.
Lets hope Leia Kodi version will be continued...

@wrxtasy, how big is the DMA Area for the Video Capture driver? Is it also by 8 MB or higher?

This working nicely on my C2.
Is there any advantage to update it to Kodi 17.3?
If so how do I do that?

Ahh got it. With the default kodi skin in Libreelec it wouldnt show the update channels in the box, just blank.
Changed skin to Amber and it got the updates (channel 8) loaded 8.0.2 ;)

Hi!

I installed the "32 bit media_build edition" Image to my Odroid C2.

Now i have one big Problem..

I can not connect to official Libreelec repository...

So i can't install TV Headend Server and PVR Client... :(

With the official Rybuntu 32 Bit Libreelec 8 (without media build), i have no Problem to connect to the repo.

But with the original one, my MyGica T230 will not recognized..

What could i do, to get my T230 to work ??
