Need to make a 40pin GPIO riser available

Unread postby ZacWolf » Fri Jan 26, 2018 12:29 am

I'm using your Stereo Boom Bonnet, and I just ordered the UPS3 addon board.

You need to do one of two things:

1) Shorten the height of the 7pin I2S connector for the Boom Bonnet so that other boards can stack correctly on the C2
2) Offer a GPIO riser, and update the Stereo Boom Bonnet Wiki page with a note about the necessity of adding the GPIO riser in order to use any additional stacking addon boards (possibly even adding it as an additional "option" in the dropdown when ordering the Stereo Boom Bonnet

As it stands right now I'm having to find a supplier for a 40pin GPIO riser...

What usb3 addon board? Do you mean ups3?
The boom bonnet comes with a flexible cable so you can mount it on top, without the need of a gpio riser.

Sorry, edited. Yes I meant the UPS3 board.

It requires the 40pin GPIO, so to use it AND the 7pin cable necessary for the Stereo Boom Bonnet, means that the UPS3 requires a GPIO riser.

Yes, I ordered something similar from Amazon, but it's a part that would be nice to be offered as an option with the UPS3 addon board (or at least update the wiki with a note that it's necessary to use the UPS3 with the stereo bonnet).

As it stood, I had to wait a week to get the UPS3 from you, then wait another two days to get this part from Amazon, just to be able to use the UPS3 with the stereo bonnet.
