Armbian - USB ports are (still?) not working properly

Unread post by zanzibar » Sun Mar 10, 2019 9:52 pm

Hello,

I have installed Armbian Debian Stretch Next (mainline kernel) on my Odroid C2 and updated to newest version(apt update & apt upgrade).
Everything works fine except USB ports.

I have USB LTE modem that is not recognized. I have tried "lsusb -v" but with this modem not works.
But when I connect USB keyboard first then "lsusb -v" and next I connect LTE modem and type "lsusb -v" then it's works.

I also tried connecting USB LTE modem before Odroid C2 boot but this workaround not working.

Is there any workaround which not involving connecting more than one USB device?

Well, I often see the Problem with USB too. It ist really poor to manage it. I can see the kernel
can "see" the USB-thingy quite well when switching to tail -f /var/log/massages but no chance at all when having a look at ls -lisa /dev/disk/by-uuid. Nothing there. Just the blockdevice of root. But! The USB-thingy ist blinking fast. So I remove it an stick it on again, no blinking now, again seen by kernel, nowhere else. So I reboot. And now it is mentioned by
/var/log/massages and? /dev/disk/by-uuid! There it get's it's name and I can mount it at /media/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx oder on /mnt. But! It again disappears! After some time. So rebooting, remounting and have a look at it via a browser all the time. Since a whole day.
Maybee that will work: So i'm shure it's not a problem on Odroid or of the Kernel but of Armbian
