I've had a lot of luck with Vivaldi browser. Chromium is aweful Youtube playback. Firefox ok Youtube, but unstable to surf. Vivaldi great 720p Youtube playback and smooth surfing. I didn't want to go thru the process of this:
In my tests Chromium was running 720p up to 30 FPS fine.. 720p@60 was terrible though.
Make sure to follow the guide on the first page to setup hardware accelerated Chromium, as it's not hardware accelerated by default.
BadPritt wrote:Awesome how well Revolt works. I didn't expect that. Some games didn't work, but I didn't put any effort into it.
I'll see if I can find out a few things about the ones that did not work.
RVGL is fine yeah, but the C2 is not very powerful when it comes to gaming, even on the ODROID U3 (from 2012/2013) I often get the same or better results (and it only has a Mali 400 GPU).

I know, it's bothering me as well that they do not finish Tournament-Mode that was my favorite.
But the development on OMF is very very very slow if anything goes on at all.
There's nothing I can do about it, it's up to the developers, but you can always run the original DOS game on DosBox
Alien vs Predator
I just tried AvP and it's working fine.
Make sure you have the game data from your original game installed in /home/odroid/.avp
Yes, this doesn't seem to work and crashes with a python error, probably nothing I can do here.
Hmm, tested this right now and indeed one of 55 pre-start tests fails, maybe I can create a workaround for that.
There's another version available on Debian Stretch repository, slightly older 1.3.1 instead of 1.3.3 but it will work.
But you should start in from terminal with:
Code: Select all
Sadly this version uses a fixed 800x600 window mode, while mine version uses fullscreen desktop resolution.
But as I said, I'll look into the frogatto issue to see what's causing this one test to fail.
This was working fine for me, please note that you need at least one .wad file under /home/odroid/.config/gzdoom (for example doom shareware version or original version) for it to work.
I played Doom and Castelvania, both were working fine.
yep they crash, cause they are compiled against libSDL2 and I removed OpenGL support from that one as it interferes with most other games.
But there is a workaround:
Install monolibs-odroid and change the LD_LIBRARY_PATH in /usr/local/bin/neverball_start (and neverputt_start) from /usr/local/lib to /usr/local/lib/monolibs
the monolibs has the correct libSDL2 version so it should work.
There seems to be several issues here.. I'll have to check this further.
But I can say there's a script missing that is suppose to fix resolution and other things.. not sure why it's not there.
But even with the correct setting it crashes when trying to create a window... So I can't say what's wrong at the moment.

Tested Quake 2 with several improvements (graphics and sounds and such) and it was working fine
Make sure you have the original game files in the /home/odroid/.yq2/base2q folder.
