openvpn for android [SOLVED]

Unread post by richard-g8jvm » Thu Sep 13, 2018 9:41 pm

Hi
Trying to set up a tunnel with openvpn between a C1 running ubuntu and an android tablet
Does openvpn for android, pulled from play store , look for the client file with .ovpn or .conf

With trying to import the client file all it shows are jpegs and zip files in /download, but its not showing client1.conf
I know the client1.conf file is there , I can see it with a ftp client .

or is it trying to do something clever like look for the client1.conf and key files all zipped up in a single file.
thanks

Reply to myself

Openvpn for android is not the app to use, just use openvpn app
It looks for .opvn files
NOTE
If using the XU4 setup for openvpn for linux,
https://wiki.odroid.com/odroid-xu4/soft ... es#openvpn
openvpn does not like the .ovpn file it creats for the client
It requires the ta.key to be downloaded in the the same file as clientn.ovpn ; where n is the client number
ie client2.ovpn
