Kernel panic when installing play store

Unread post by mad_ady » Thu Nov 21, 2019 7:08 pm

I'm trying to install Play Store on a friends C2 (running Android 6.0.1, flashed from selfinstall-odroidc2-eng-s905_6.0.1_master-120-v5.5.img.xz). I'm using these instructions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKO8ZKJM_0c

The problem is - at about 20% progress the C2 halts with this error:

Code: Select all

I have force fsck'ed the filesystems and there were no errors (I'm using a black 16G emmc). I'm guessing the installer is trying to copy the image into a system/recovery partition but fails. Any ideas how I can troubleshoot further? Or are there other ways of installing GApps?

Try the nano variant, if that doesn't work I would try mini.

I had an instance where I have to use mini because nano and pico were causing reboots.
