Odroid C2 with Android 5.1.1 - windows does not see it

Unread postby Heiner59er » Fri Jan 12, 2018 11:06 am

Hello,

I have a valid IP address 192.168.2.113 and the odroid machine has connectivity to the internet. I can also see my NAS and windows shares from Kodi but not the other way around. When I had LibreElec installed on odroid, my Windows machine could see the odroid, but Kodi could never seemed to find my uPnP devices. Now that I'm using Android, I have no issues with Kodi seeing the uPnP but my Windows environment does not see the odroid in my network devices.
Any reason why this is the case? Connected using ethernet cat 6 cable connect directly into the Bell router.
If I used Ubunto, everything worked.

Thanks,

Robert

Windows does not see what? With Android there is no SMB or DLNA/UPnP by default.

I just want to be able to see the Android device on my network and be able to browse the folders from windows. I was able to do this using Ubuntu. It's not something I really need, just curious why did does not work as it did runny Ubuntu or LebreElect. Thanks for any help or explanation.

That is SMB, LibreELEC includes an SMB server by default but Android does not.

Try installing this:
