I'm making this post to know if any of you use C2 or there is any better and cheaper solution for this pourpose and if it's possible becouse while looking on the internet i never found a post talking of this.

Thanks for the replies :D

Once kodi krypton is released and we can find a libwidevine for aarch64 (probably from future wetek devices) LibreELEC will be the best to watch netflix with kodi on the C2.

The resolution is 480p only on Android due to missing DRM.

Why DRM is missing? You can't integrate them to your ROM?
This should help about DRM info: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... info&hl=en
And look at this page at the bottom where you can see how to integrate it: https://source.android.com/devices/drm.html#build

It is not a simple DRM issue.
More complicated certification stuff.
Google & Netflix don't allow the Widevine DRM license for the open-platform devices to protect their contents.

The most people are using Amazon Video... Netflix is not really better, and with Amazon Prime you have a lot more additional things (free and fast order shippings, also free Music Streaming). The Video Quality with the C2 is SD.. but with my 2560x1440 Monitor very good. If you want HD then I think you have to use the original Amazon Player.

I'm using my Mac in the Safari Bowser (SD+ ... same like HD) for Amazon Video.

Can someone please download this app on C2 and put here result?
Because Horizon GO (app provided by my ISP and require DRM) and right know I don't know if they don't support chip or if it's because of DRM, but on Pine A64 its working - DRM info

// EDIT: found this thread here, where someone says the work was by AMlogic already done, so it's should be up to HardKernel, right?

Do you know how many countries Amazon support? Netflix coverages a lot more countries.

The Amazon Video App for Android is currently only capable of SD-Streaming. Maybe you're more lucky with some Browser + Android. HD Videos in Chromium on "regular" linux like odrobian or smth wouldn't work as well since there is no hardware acceleration support.

I downloaded Netflix from the Google Play Store onto my C2 and connected it to my receiver with a HDMI cable. Videos play fine in Full HD resolution. The audio is only stereo however.

This seems to be my experience too. It sure likes full HD, but the PCM 2.0 sound kinda bites. It does seem to be encoded as ProLogic though because I get sound out of the rear speakers and it isn't a mirror of the front channels.
