[solved] Android with Spotify unstable

Unread postby androidTV » Tue Nov 14, 2017 9:54 am

Hi,

I'm facing a big problem with the reliability of my Odroid C2. Especially when I start Spotify, the mouse is not responding for a few seconds. Its really strange because sometimes everything is fine and sometimes these problems are appearing all the time so that the Odroid is almost not usable. It feels like it's an temperature problem, but the power supply should be ok with 5V / 2A. Temperature is about 80°C.
Now I'm using the Hifi Shield 2 also, but this kind of problems already appeared before. But I'm worried Hifi Shield could make the problem worse, because it covers the heatsink completely and I think there is no more airflow possible!?

Is there anybody else having such problems with Spotify?

Any ideas for a solution?

I'm using Android 6 Version 3.3. Btw. what happened to version 3.4? It disappeared from the website, so I installed the remaining 3.3, but when I check for Updates it says "New update package is found" which I think will be 3.4!?

Version 3.4 should exist.

If you use a DC barrel jack as power input source, you had to remove the J1 jumper to lower the CPU temperature.

Ah, my mistake, I was just looking at the old wiki.

I'm not using a DC barrel jack for power supply. But I found out what was causing all this problems. I was a long time using a malfunction sd card for my music files. The card was still readable, so I didn't see a reason for not using it. But without the card everything works fine again. Didn't expect such a thing. The problems were the reasons for not using the Odroid for half a year because I hoped the problem is within the software image and that it is going to be fixed in any further release...

Now it's only one little problem left with a crackling sound. But I'm going to open a new threat therefore.

So thanks a lot!! Sometimes it's necessary to open threat before finding the solution by yourself :)

Btw. this little computer is awesome!!!
