Bluetooth Streaming from Phone

Unread postby sparkyman987 » Tue Jul 25, 2017 3:40 pm

When I stream music from my phone via Bluetooth to the c2 I can't get the bluetooth media controller device I have (https://www.amazon.com/Satechi-Bluetoot ... A5VW6Q3AYX) to work with controlling the skip, backwards, pause and play on the phone. So basically I have my media controller connected to the c2 via bluetooth while I am streaming from my phone via bluetooth but it wont let me skip to the next song with the controller. I have to do that via the phone. The controllers volume + and - controls the c2 just fine though. The reason I can't simply connect the media controller to the phone's bluetooth is because the c2 is connected to the audio amps and I wouldn't be able to control the volume. Any thoughts on if there is a way to make this config work? Thanks.

Yeah, I would like to make the system run from just one media controller to keep the system as clean of an install as possible and the reason I can't use that one I have on the phone is because the audio amps are connected to the odroid and I would have to have the sound turned up at all times on the system. Considering the danger of this to the audio equipment that isn't an option unfortunately. A little background for this project is that the odroid is being used as a custom stereo system for a jet boat. This is the only issue we have encountered for the system. Does the odroid need to have a HFP for bluetooth to be able to do the control we are looking for? Thanks for the reply.

Oh... do you using odroid-c2 as.. bluetooth speaker?
I means, do you edit build.prop file's persist.service.bt.a2dp lines as true?
If you did that, you should connect media controller to phone.
I think I misunderstood this situation. :roll:

Ok so the odroid needs to be able to be both the source and the speaker when the user decides to either stream from his phone to the odroid and when the user decides to use his spotify app on the odroid. That would be the goal. I had to set persist.service.bt.a2dp=true to get the streaming feature to even show up and the only issue is that when using the odroid as the speaker the media controller can't be connected to the phone because the media controller will only control the volume for the phone and if the controller is connected to the odroid and you are streaming from a phone the controller wont let you use the buttons for skip, pause/play, back. Obviously when the odroid is the source all those buttons control the odroid just fine. When I set the persist.service.bt.a2dp in the build.prop to true there was only one in there. Was there supposed to be more than one setting to set as true? Once again thanks for your input on the issue I am having.

Hi there.
Well, can you add a line to build.prop and test again?
persist.service.bt.htp.client=ture

I'm not sure it work. But.. I hope it works! :D ;;

Did you notice that Luke.go put:

persist.service.bt.htp.client=ture

when i think 'ture' probably meant to be 'true'

Hi,

I think it should even be "persist.service.bt.hfp.client=true".
But that's not the problem here, I think you want to enable some sort of an AVRCP controller on the Odroid.
According to this file : https://android.googlesource.com/platfo ... rvice.java, there is a service that can be run to handle what you want in the current Android tree but it will only be available with Android O. :(

Regarding HFP client, did somebody ever get this to work on the C2 ? That would be the C2 ringing and routing audio accordingly when receiving a call on the phone.
I'm planning to buy one and would like to use that as some Bluetooth hub.
Thanks !

I did notice the typo so I tried it the way he meant but it still made no affect. Sorry I haven't gotten the info for you yet. I've been busy with work and really sick so I will try to get it for you in the next few days. Thanks again for the help.
