Yes, we replaced the DDX, IIRC that was caused by the old x11 ddx.

@mdrjr: My system is based on one of the first images (before x11 acceleration). When the time came I installed the correct drivers and had acceleration. What would I have to do now to enable fbturbo without reflashing?

You're right. I was already using it:

Code: Select all

Section "Device"
        Identifier "Mali FBDEV"
        Driver "fbturbo"
        Option "fbdev" "/dev/fb0"

        Option "SwapbuffersWait" "true"
EndSection

Thanks!

Using official Ubuntu image, this did not bring in changes. My X11 driver is still mali. Verified through /var/log/Xorg.0.log.

What package can I force (re)install to get the fbturbo driver?

[edit]
FYI, I switch between mali-fbdev and mali-x11 for testing frequently. Is it possible a dependency issue resulted from this?

I force reinstalled xserver-xorg-video-mali and it brought in the fbturbo turbo driver and associate xorg.conf.

Hi, could you clarify - which driver should i use for X11 and GLES2.0 acceleration ?

With new image - i have GLES working good with my application, but another issue -
after starting any GLES app - a complete background is lost - black background for all apps (desktop, mate menu, Midnight commander, folder view etc).
In my application - background is ok (probably because i fill it manually)

you should be using fbturbo.

Did you modified anything on it?

I see fbturbo on new image. I think on old image there was "mali", but not sure. I didn't modify it.

I had a problems with Qt compilation on new image. I think there is wrong include file - "KHR/khrplatform.h". I had compilation error till replace it with a good one from khronos.org.
Then there were problems with Opencv compilation and finally "black background" after GLES.

So i took the old image again, run update && dist-upgrade
and now it works just fine. I'm happy :D

thank you for your support.

Update the system with "sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade && sudo apt dist-upgrade" and reboot.
And try your OpenGL-ES rendering test and let us know the result.

i think the ondroid was made for 4K not?

If yes this is not solution yet but the best i have seen while playin HEVC-10bit. I have removed the MATE desktop and directly booted in Kodi. It was really usable already, but far from the perfect..

This looks very promising to me: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page= ... ks-Up-Lima

On my Odroid XU4 running Arch, I already received the updated mesa. Haven't tried it on my C2 yet though. Hopefully HK brings an update for their image.

Did anyone successfully tested the new lima driver with mesa 19.1? Could be used with 3.16 Kernel or do we need kernel > than 4.14 ?

Ok, mesa 19.1 is only going to be released at 2019-06-01. But does anyone tested the lima driver?

The Lima driver is very specific (or at least in the past it was).
In the past it required, specific Kernel, specific MESA version and of cause the lima driver.
And normally it ends at the step "specific Kernel" as there are many changes to the Kernel of the C2 that it doesn't run with just "any" Kernel.
Default Kernel 3.16 for C2 does not support Lima driver, in fact I think it requires a variant of Kernel 5.0 or higher to work properly.
