Netbeans new project problem on CodeMonkey13.10

Unread post by Tavor999 » Thu May 01, 2014 5:17 pm

Hi,

I wasn't sure if this fits Ubuntu forum so i posted it here.
My problem is related to Netbeans on robroy's Code Monkey 13.10 lubuntu version.
I'm unable to start a new project, NetBeans keeps loading the list and never stops.
I've tried to change to Oracle's 1.8.0 on NetBeans configurations, but the problem remains.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance.

I will take a look on my local copy. Its likely that Netbeans for ARM has some unresolved bugs.

EDIT: To allow Netbeans to find the Java libraries (which is why the "New Project" is hanging), you need to update the file /etc/netbeans.conf to use java-7-openjdk-armhf:

Code: Select all

netbeans_jdkhome="/usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk-armhf/"
You will also need to install the "openjdk-7-jre" package, otherwise the Java modules won't load. FYI, I had to set the Synaptic Package Manager repository to "Server for United States" in order to properly install the "openjdk-7-jre" package.
