Can't Login - Can I reset admin password?

Hi all,

Have fired up my old Odroid-u2. It appears to be running Lubuntu 14

I am trying to update the software on user odroid@odriod but it is not accepting odroid as the password.

Is there any way I can change the admin password so I can update this device?

Yes, but you'll need access to a linux system. Take out your sd/emmc. Put it in a reader and connect it to the working system. Mout the rootfs (second partition). Make a backup of etc/shadow. Open it with an editor as root and replace the root hash with a hash known to work (e.g. from the host system).
Unmount, replug jnto your odroid, reboot and it should work.

or you could use a chroot inside the sd/eMMC from the other linux system and do a passwd to set a new password

You'd need to install qemu if it's not the same architecture.
