C1+ as 3D printer remote control

Unread postby chlorisdroid » Thu Jun 02, 2016 8:42 pm

An Odroid-C1+ in combination with octoprint (http://octoprint.org/) and a Prusa I3 B pro desktop 3D printer can remote control your 3D prints. You can upload gcode remotely to your odroid or directly to the the sd-card of your printer and control the printer working on a 3d object via Odroid webcam.

Details can be seen here -> https://blog.georgmill.de/2016/06/02/remote-control-for-your-3d-printer/.

I've run the Pi Octoprint stuff, but never on the Odroid. I think Octoprint does not really handle the camera directly, all it does is embed an URL that is serviced by mjpg-streamer. So, the camera part should be OK.

AFAIK, most of the rest of Octoprint itself is Python, so is pretty portable.
