What is the connector for the UART?
Hi All,
I have plenty of USB to TTL converters and would like to make my own cable for the odroid c1 UART. What is the mating connector part number and manufacturer for the UART?
Thanks,
Rob

The mating connector information is avaiable on the WiKi.

I have few cp2102 usb ttl converters but will it have any issue with voltage. I thought they will have 3-5v on signal lines and odroid expects 1.8v.

On the C1, which this forum is for, it say 3.3V for the UART. See the same page on the wiki!

On the other hand, other odroids do use 1.8V, so be careful. All I have is a C1.

Yes, ODROID-C1 has 3.3Volt interface while other ODROIDs have 1.8Volt IO.

Re: What is the connector for the UART?
Thanks everyone I tried the cp2102 usb serial converters I bought from ebay and it worked well on Odroid C1. Also I had few female headers which I use for gpio pins. It was a little tight to push that through the connector on Odroid C1 as I didnt have the molex mating connector. But once connected everything was perfect.
Connection Diagram
Pin 4 - Gnd
Pin 3 - Tx
Pin 2 - Rx
Pin 1 - Not connected
After connecting like this I was able to see the boot messages and shutdown messages on my host pc.

Can you post a picture you made the connection?
Many people will be happy who forgot to buy our USB-UART kit.

Re: What is the connector for the UART?
No.. the other side.
To make it more clear...
On the bottom side of PCB, there is one rectangular soldering pad and three round pads.
The rectangular one is pin#1.
