Programmatically send SMS from Ubuntu C1+

Unread postby pynz » Sat Nov 04, 2017 1:21 pm

I see from this post: https://hristoborisov.com/index.php/projects/turning-the-raspberry-pi-into-a-sms-center-using-python/
that it can be relatively easy to send SMS messages via python from Linux using a 3G/4G USB dongle. There are quite a few 4G dongles available from aliexpress with different capabilities. Has anyone had recent experience with SMS on an Ubuntu C1+ using a dongle that they are willing to share, please?

They should work with linux and expose a serial port that understands AT commands. The problem is if you can find out the commands to send sms from that manufacturer.
The modems that work with rpi should all work without issues on Odroids as well.
