flashing an eMMC already connected to C1+

Post by basura77 »

Can I boot my C1+ to Linux from microSD and then use BalenEtcher to flash an image onto an eMMC plugged into the C1+?

Or do I have to purchase an external eMMC writer module.

The eMMC boot priority is always higher than SD card.
The eMMC doesn't support hot-plug function.
So you need to have the eMMC-SD adapter board or the writer.

If you can boot the Linux from SD card, you can flash an OS image to eMMC using the comand dd. If your eMMC already have an OS and cannot boot from SD card, do remove the partition table from eMMC. This will let SD card boot from your ODROID-C1, but please do this at your own risk.

Code: Select all

$ sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/mmcblk0 bs=512 count=1
