Re: C1(+) OpenELEC 6.0.0 - Isengard / 6.95.x - Jarvis / 24p+
Hello guys, I have a big problem!
I just bought a ODROID c1+ board, a micro-SDHC Sandisk Ultra UHS-I 16GB and this adapter Hama.
I tried "OpenELEC 6.0.3 - Kodi Isengard 15.2 Final" and "OpenELEC 6.95.4.0 - Kodi Jarvis 16.0 Beta4" but both, after the restart following the resizing of the file system, give me a lot of errors, always different. An example.
Unfortunately I get stuck in these screens and kodi doesn't start,I have no way to see any log.
I also tried Odrobian (downloaded from this forum) and boot with no apparent problems.
The Hama adapter can be the problem? Any advice is welcome, thank you!!

Your adapator has nothing to do with this, Odrobian has "disableuhs" option inside the "boot.ini" file commented, I am guessing that this openelec image has it uncommented, while you stated that your card does actually support "UHS" I would advise you to re-flash it again but uncomment the option that I told you about this time before putting the SD card into your ODROID C1 board and then boot up.Deaddy wrote:Hello guys, I have a big problem!I just bought a ODROID c1+ board, a micro-SDHC Sandisk Ultra UHS-I 16GB and this adapter Hama.

Fantastic, thank you so much, now it works!
Now I read everything in order to understand better how to use my Harmony that on a PC with Openlec worked without problems.
EDIT: ok found, with a Harmony Touch remote, configured as a MCE remote:
and everything magically works

Is this product compatible with this Openelec distro?

otherwise, does anybody know a board with analog AND optical output at a similar price?

I have a lot of freeze, I am forced to remove the power supply and brutally restart
It happens every time I browse through my collection of movies (500+ file) located on a Windows server, the system freezes and no longer responds.
Since I have not made any special configuration (Installed OpenELEC, configured lirc, connected shared folders, scraper scan and nothing else), it can be a hardware problem?
Where can I find any log to look what happens?
Sorry but I am a bit noob

Having an issue on "OpenELEC (WRXTASY) - v.6.0.0". It looks like it may be due to poorly encoded rips. From what I have read, there is a way to disable the hardware decoder for only Xvid encodes. I have added this:
to my advancedsettings.xml as suggested for some FireTV users, but I don't believe that these releases have libstagefright installed?
Code: Select all
<video>
<stagefright>
<usemp4codec>0</usemp4codec>
</stagefright>
</video>

Same issue with Odrobian, freeze remaining on the desktop without starting a program. Removing the top of case the freeze disappear, but I have a lot of lag in the Kodi gui. Temperature problem?
But at this point maybe I should open a topic in the section "Issues"

I think that refers to Android builds of Kodi - as libstagefright is an Android API/library for video playback. Don't think it is relevant for OpenElec (which is Linux not Android)nubleet wrote:Having an issue on "OpenELEC (WRXTASY) - v.6.0.0". It looks like it may be due to poorly encoded rips. Hello,
I installed OpenELEC 6.95.4.0 on my ODROID-C1+ with the HiFi shield and I have a few questions.
Is it possible to have resolution 1366x768 with OpenELEC ?
I changed the asound.conf file like this to operate the hifi shield:
The HiFi Shield works but I can not choose the output device in the kodi settings, is there a solution ?
Thank you.

Maybe a stupid question: the two wifi-usb adapters selled by hardkernel are compatible with openelec? Is there a better compatible usb dongle for wifi connection?

AP -> Access Point ... when you want the openelec box to run as your wifi Acess Point and your wifi clients to connect to it directly.
You do not need that if you want your openlec box to connect as a client to your wifi AP.
I use this mode, when taking my setup traveling and then connect my mobile phone, running kodi-remote app, to it.

wrxtsy i have a CEC usb adapter from pulse-eight and i wonder if i can the standard cec turn of so that libcec only uses the usb adapter.
Cause now i think it's interfering.
On my samsung tv i have in cec settings kodi and odroid c1.
odroid c1 is the standard cec enabled in the image and kodi is the usb cec adapter from pulse-eight.
When turn tv off for a while it automaticly switch to odroid c1 even when in cec settings in kodi change the hdmi port to 0x4000.
Is it possible in boot.ini to turn off cec or is cec totally disabledthen?
I want to use the usb cec adapter from pulse-eight the same way like the rpi2 does when turn off tv for a while and then turn on and cec is still enabled.
Thanks!

hi there, from what i understand if you disable cec it will just be the hdmi port cec that stops working, i think the usb pulse 8 adapter would carry on functioning like normal. or you could try a cec-less hdmi cable from the pulse8 to the odroid

I set the hdmi physical adress in kodi to 0x4000 so why after reboot it goes to hdmi por 1?

If you have a cec-less HDMI cable then the odroids built in cec wouldn't be able to Interfere with the pulse eight cec

Hi guys,
I have the issue that the command "Power off" from the shutdown/restart menu is rebooting the Odroid C1+ instead of shutting it down. Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks and regards,

Hi @wrxtasy,Gobam wrote:Wrxtasy,
First of all, thanks for your excellent work on this!!
I just installed version 6.95.3.0 from the image, and upgraded to 6.95.4.0. I have a MyGica T230, but it's not recognized when inserted. The following is the output of lsusb and dmesg:
Code: Select all
OpenELEC:~ # lsusb Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0572:c688 Conexant Systems (Rockwell), Inc. Geniatech T230 DVB-T2 TV Stick
There is no other output in dmesg related to this card. The same card is correctly detected in a RPi 2. Could you please confirm if there is other config required for this card to work? Thanks!!Code: Select all
[ 1819.764544@3] usb 1-1.4: new high-speed USB device number 4 using dwc_otg [ 1819.865360@3] usb 1-1.4: string descriptor 0 malformed (err = -61), defaulting to 0x0409
Regarding this, I was able to compile OpenElec 6.0.0 from @zalaare sources, using the patch provided by @vanti in http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=114&t=17838. With this version MyGicaT230 works fine. However, that version has some issues that makes it unusable for my needs, and all these issues are corrected in your version v6.95.4.0, which is, by the way, an outstanding version (everything else works almost perfect).
Is it possible to get a copy of the source for version 6.95.4.0, so we can try to apply the patch? Thank you very much!!

Hi All,
Back in C1+ land again after a playing around in the WeTek bouncy castle for a while.
DVB - usb users will be happy as I've nabbed this Experimental Kernel v3.16 from Crashoverride:
http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=112&t=17929
And mixed in a bit of Runnerways Special HEVC Commit Sauce and came up with this:
OE 6.9.5 / Kodi 16.0 Jarvis beta5
https://mega.nz/#!i8szTLjb!RaCE94hmjhqz ... 85IFhhOb7k
So far, I've found the C1's IR receiver is not working with this v3.16 Kernel. There is likely more broken as well, experimental after all.
HDMI CEC still works tho, although thats not ideal.
Another thing of interest is this OE HDMI CEC ON/OFF Addon from the WeTek Play but its also compatible with the S805 C1:
http://openelec.tv/forum/146-wetek-play ... ler-add-on.
Currently working on 3D MVC and ISO support for OE AMLogic platforms, slowly making progress.
Expect to see a OE 6.0.0 Kodi Isengard 3D test version soon.

Gday,
No its all shutting down properly here with the latest v6.95.5 of OpenELEC that I've just tested.
Blue flashing light extinguishes to signal no activity.
As always update to the latest version if you are having issues.
OpenELEC v6.95.5 Kodi Jarvis beta5 has just been released, see Page #1 for details.
I'm finally confident too this version will work properly with MyGica T230/August T210v2 DVB-T/T2/C USB Sticks now I've checked the Kernel properly.

Running the latest Beta 5 build with latest tvheadend (ATSC) and everything seems to be fine thus far other than the same laggy mpeg4 playback the C1/+ has always suffered from. I will still have to use my Pi2 to watch mpeg4 content unfortunately.

Hi Rooted,
mpeg4 and Kodi on OE is about as good as it is going to get for the time being.
If you pull up the OSD Codec window it should be Hardware amcodec decoding (am-mpeg4), the alternative is ffmpeg Software decoding which will be worse. No idea if this will be fixed.
Can I ask you (and everyone else) that tells me their usb Tuners are working with TvHeadend (plugged into the C1) to list what device they are actually using for the benefit of others ?
The Brand and the name of the usb Tuner please, and just a simple: (lsusb -v for more info)
Mine is - Sony Play TV dual dvb-t Tuner, dvb-usb-dib0700 Firmware (from dmesg command):

The codec used is am-mpeg4, it's just not functioning correctly. It's an issue that has been around a long time, no worries I certainly don't expect you to fix it.
I'm using this ATSC TV adapter:

Thanks, I'm compiling a list for Page #1 and yours was important as its an ATSC usb tuner.

Hi @wrxtasy,
I tested version 6.95.5 and it is working fine with my DVB-T2 stick, thank you very much! I am using the following:
However, I had at least 3 freezes during video reproduction, in some case watching live TV, in other case playing a recorded video. All these freezes were in the OS, as nothing is responding, including the SSH server. Only option is to disconnect the power adaptor. Not sure if I can obtain a log of these events.. Is it possible this is caused by the new kernel?
Thank you!

@wrxtasy,
Welcome back. Your long absence got me kinda worried as your such a great supporter of our beloved little monster.
I have a request. I'm using a TVHeadend dedicated server (4 sat tuners, 1 dvb-t tuner and a hand full of IPTV channels).
The latest pvr.hts now is 2.2.10 (see https://github.com/kodi-pvr/pvr.hts/blo ... ngelog.txt ) which has some interesting fixes for timeshift and other.
The one I'm using now is 2.1.18 (which comes with 6.0.3). Could you please compile the latest version?
Or is it easy to explain how I can compile it myself? As I haven't got a clue yet, how to do that.
Thanks in advance.

Sadly no support for the August T210v1 (aka Geniatech T220) USB DVB-T2 tuner in the 6.95.5.0 build.

@ Noggin, thanks for testing. Maybe try the Experimental v 6.95.5 with the Kernel v3.16
@ Gobham, you can do some Kernel Logging to look for errors to try and get something before crashing happens with:
Then throw the http Link up here on the Forums.
@IanPH, the wee beastie is still getting some loving. I will post up some 3D MVC test Isengard releases this week for those who want to experiment with 3D.
All the most recent pvr clients are already packaged with v6.95.5, you have likely not been looking in the correct place:
(I'm using pvr.hts v2.2.10 currently)
Addons > MyAddons > PVR Clients
Updated TvHeadend server compiles that support Sat IP Tuners are found in here:
(Use the WeTek nightlies)

But 6.95.5, as I recall is based on Jarvis while I have to stick to Isengard since I have several OE machines based on different hardware which all share the same MySQL database.
Can I just take the 2.2.10 pvr.hts from 6.95.5 and install it in Isengard?

Hello everyone,
Firstly, thank you for that great work.
One question : am I the only one with HEVC playback issue ?
I mean, I have two movies HEVC encoded, and both are crashing during playback.
I'm with Odroid C1+, and tried with latest build, Alpha 4 or 15.2, same issue.
Thank you for your support !

This version onwards fixes HEVC playback issues. (see Page #1)
OpenELEC 5.95.6.2 - Kodi Isengard 15.2 Final aka the VFQ edition.
If you are still having problems I suspect its the encoding of the files themselves.

The TvHeadend server may even need upgrading to at least v4.0.7

Thanks, I will give it a try. I'm running a dedicated Linux Debian server with TVHeadend 4.1-1286.wrxtasy wrote:Try this one pvr.hts v2.2.10, no Idea if it will work with Isengard.

*EDIT*
Well that doesn't work. It complains that dependencies are not met

Apparently it requires xbmc.pvr version 4.1.0 while Isengard uses version 1.9.6.

Re: C1(+) OpenELEC 5.95.x/6.95.x / Jarvis / 24p + HEVC suppo
It still happens, in every 6.0.x and every 6.95.x.IanPH wrote:Anyone an idea about this?IanPH wrote:One question, I have marked out setenv hdmi_cec "hdmitx=cecf" with # in boot.ini, yet everytime I switch off my TV (which automatically also switches off my amp) I see the power-menu when I switch my TV back on. I'm pretty sure it's not something it receives through the IR-receiver of my Windows MCE remote as I unplugged it to rule that out. What might cause this? As I was under the impression that CEC is completely disabled when that line is marked out?!
Powering off the TV sends the HDMI CEC shutdown, but that only brings the power menu in kodi - it's the hardkernel faulty implementation of their hacks around CEC. Odroid don't have a true CEC, it's a hacky implementation that in the end sends key-events to the system, and I bet the "power key" event is issued.
A way around it is maybe making a custom keymap.xml for a shutdown / power key... maybe wrxtasy would know..

If you are still having problems I suspect its the encoding of the files themselves.
In fact, after different testing, my conclusion is that movie such as 1080p/HEVC are too complex for odroid devices.
My panasonic TV is almost capable of reading this kind of movie. But odroid devices only accept low bitrates encoded files.
If someone has feedbacks on reading 1080p/HEVC movie, please let me know.

Are you sure your movies are encoded with 8 bit because the S805 (in the ODroid C1) does not support 10 bit HEVC!thoniodu10 wrote:Thank you for your prompt answer wrxtasy.

I suspect that is what the problem is because I've yet to find in all my numerous testing any 8-bit video 1080p HEVC that will not play on the C1 and that includes high bitrate stuff.
Sometimes the Audio codec or Audio settings can screw with playback too. Only way to be sure of whats in the video file is examining it with a PC/Mac program like Mediainfo.

Hi all, Anyone know how to force kodi to display HEVC movies in the video library? I don't see them in the menu "MOVIES". I need to go in the menu "VIDEOS" to launch them. I use 6.0.3 version. Thanks a lot!

Re: C1(+) OpenELEC 6.0.0 - Isengard / 6.95.x - Jarvis / 24p+
...first off, I think this is not releated to openelec, odroid or even HEVC but only related to kodi and how you scrape your content.DroidC1 wrote:Hi all, Anyone know how to force kodi to display HEVC movies in the video library? ...second, I am not sure what you want...maybe you are confusing the semantics here? IMHO the video library is for videos and the movies library is for movies
For what I'd gather, you want your HEVC *movies* to show in the movies library (but they currently show up in the videos libary), right?
Possible solution:
- delete the entries from the library
- use the appropriate scraper form the movies library to create the entry there
...alternative: use an external scraper/helper, like MediaElch: http://www.kvibes.de/en/mediaelch/

And in the words of Monty Python....now for something completely different !
OpenELEC 6.95.5 / Kodi Jarvis 16.0 beta5 with extras
Those being 3D ISO and MVC video playback, courtesy of source code from a number of people and places.
Koying and Popcornmix from Kodi and the Zidoo guys who modded the ffmpeg demuxer.
Lots of elboy grease was still required:
OE 6.96.6 Kodi Jarvis 16.0 beta5 .tar HERE
Test version, as I have no 3D TV, but Kernel and Kodi logs very encouraging.
3D ISO and MVC Test clips here:

Have Fun !
