That is fine. Try the instructions again:

Code: Select all

dpkg -i minidlna_1.1.2+dfsg-1.1_armhf.deb
apt-get -f install
apt-get install openmediavault-minidlna

Strange. I didn't have any problem on mine with the same commands. What is the output of:

Code: Select all

apt-get purge minidlna openmediavault-minidlna
cat /etc/apt/sources.list
apt-cache policy libavformat53

OMV doesn't work on Ubuntu. Initially, I created a minimal, debootstrap installation of Debian Wheezy using this script. After that, I installed the packages needed by OMV, added the odroid repo for their kernel, and made a few changes. Why?

It's working without problems?
I'm looking to use Odroid as a NAS with Plex Media Server, samba and torrent/direct download (Mega) download client. Is this the best solution?
Odroid attached to a 2TB HDD (NTFS)

Thanks!

As a NAS with plex and samba, yes. There is a plugin for bittorrent but I don't know anything about utorrent or mega. If they work on Debian Wheezy on armhf, you should be fine.

At first it's the only thing I want to do.
Sorry, I mean torrent (i don't care about the client if it works). I know in linux we can use for direct downloads pyload and jdownloader but I don't know if there is a release for OMV.
At least, my HDD is NTFS and I have a lot of data inside. I hope there is no problem with that

Thanks!

There are plugins for both pyload and jdownloader. ntfs works but I wouldn't use it long term. You may have permission issues.

Thanks!
But I'm having problems to make SD images with OS (Ubuntu, minimal ubuntu, OMV...).
How do you make the image?

PS: Where the OMV system install the plugins?

win32diskimager or dd to write the image to the sd card.

Where does OMV install the plugins? Depends on which plugin you are talking about.

Experiencing issue with FTP configuration on OpenMediaVault running in Odroid C1
I have updated the OS to v1.18 (Kralizec) and have setup a share drive which I can access without issue (setup as SMB/CIFS on NTFS formatted drive)

Now, I want to setup the FTP server and when I check Enable in FTP section and select Save followed by Apply I receive the following error:

Code: Select all

It works on my odroid. Something is odd about your IP address for it to complain about that. So, it must be a setting. Did you enable ssl in ftp?

I have assigned a static IP for my setup (ipv4) and have also tried ssl in ftp. Nothing seems to work.

Try commenting out the "LoadModule mod_tls_memcache.c" line in /etc/proftpd/modules.conf file and save/apply again.

If that doesn't work, try creating /etc/proftpd.conf using my working config from my odroid.

so frustrating. tried all your suggestions but still no go. I just ran RPi2 openmediavault and ftp access works fine. For some reason the same setup on the ODroid get's me nowhere.

Here's the error code:

Code: Select all

**UPDATE** I had to edit /etc/hosts and add the following line to get proftpd to work

127.0.0.1 OdroidC1

It appears the hostname was set to "OdroidC1" and OMV wasn't able to resolve the IP address.

Must be a router issue. I am using pfSense and it works without that. I would leave localhost in the line and add odroid-c1 after it in the same line.

Thanks, I simply tried yesterday, and it started without any visual issues.

EDIT:
Password on ssh is odroid, as written in the readme. Sorry, for not being attentive :-/

I haven't had much time and based on the downloads, it wasnt very popular. You can easily upgrade to OMV 2.x with omv-release-upgrade. I will try to release a 2.x image.

Simply install Debian 7 and manually install OMV afterwards.

Just don't forget the flashmemory plugin. Otherwise, your sd card won't last long. I also disable quotas and add an additional data partition/filesystem/shared folder on the sd card to quiet the df bug in wheezy (fixed in jessie/omv 3.x - no, not ready yet). There might be a couple of other things but I can't think of them right now.

Can you give more details (link) about this problem. I just found that df reports the root filesystem with a long name but this doesnt sound so serious to me.

It doesn't cause any functional issues. It just fills the logs with error messages. If you add a data drive, you don't need to worry about the third partition. I added it because there were a surprising number of people using OMV on arm devices with no data drive.

That said, using the OMV 1.x image is much easier. Just upgrade it to OMV 2.x. It does not involve any OS level components being upgraded so it typically goes very well.

Hi all,

If possible can someone tell how is the state of this Project?
Can we use plugins ?
What Works of OMV and what not, is it stable?
I see many PI using this and that's my main question

It runs very well and uses the same code that the RPi uses. So, yes you can use plugins.

Install omv-extras plugin (guide on omv-extras.org) and then minidln will show up in the plugin list. If you enable the plex repo in omv-extras plugin, then the plex plugin will show in the list too.

Did you use etcher.io to write the card?
