OpenElec - display USB drive videos on boot

Unread postby bk_XU_AZ » Sat Jul 29, 2017 3:40 pm

I am trying to help some elderly folks who aren't comfortable with technology to watch some videos (about 18 hours of various programs) to help them live better. But I need to make it as easy as possible. Is there a way to make OpenElec display the videos in the root directory of a USB drive after booting? Then they can just select the one they want to watch and play it. Getting to the directory would be a challenge for them.

I have to navigate to get to the directory listing. Is there a way to get it to come up with the listing displayed at boot?

If I understand you correctly, your issue is with Kodi itself, rather than the OS. It seems like you should be able to use the Super Folders plugin in Kodi to accomplish exactly what you need. You can have Kodi boot into the Super Folder, in fact I do that here.
