Does the official ubuntu boot from USB RAID1 /dev/md0?

Unread post by kbs1 » Fri May 29, 2015 10:27 am

Has anybody gotten this to work? I'm trying to boot debian jessie from USB RAID1 (http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=114&t=13295 ), and am wondering if there are any differences between the official ubuntu distribution kernel and jessie kernel. There shouldn't be.

So, has anybody actually made a setup that works? Many google and forum searches reveal not - or at least people don't talk about it.

And the answer is yes - it does! :) Without any problems even, first try. I really appreciate that updating "bootini" really does automatically update the whole kernel stack (boot.ini, dtb, dts, uImage and uInitrd). Great work on that part! Now to find differences between jessie and ubuntu... or I'll just stick to ubuntu :)
