Connect an HDMI screen and configure the ssh server manually.

We consider making new images in September.
ubuntu-16.04-minimal-odroid-c1-20160817 is still the latest, this seems to have SSH enabled, but odroid/odroid doesn't work. Any chance of adding the user to the passwd file for the release? The board grabbed an IP, and SSH is running, but I can't actually log in!

Would save a lot of time if you could add the user.
root/odroid I believe. Also I don't think the remote ssh will work with root so you'll probably have to create a user from the odroid first.

Should it be running 4.4.0-28?

No, you aren't running 4.4 (see your uname) and there is no reason for that 4.4 initrd to be there unless you forcefully tried upgraded the kernel to it.

/boot is not so important on odroids, but /media/boot is. Those 4.4 files are a normal leftover from ubuntu

It's not, and it's only on the ubuntu minimal image.. it's just an unclean image.
Donate to support my work on the ODROID GameStation Turbo Image for U2/U3 XU3/XU4 X2 X C1 as well as many other releases.
Check out the Games and Emulators section to find some of my work or check the files in my repository to find the software i build for ODROIDs.
If you want to add my repository to your image read my HOWTO integrate my repo into your image.

Sure I can see I'm not running it I was wondering should I be running it.

Thanks for the replies.

Sorry for bothering with a beginner's question, but why exactly is it not possible to upgrade the kernel of C1 to a more recent version?
For example, I see a couple of 4.4.* and 4.8.* kernel images in 'aptitude' and package descriptions state they are for ARM platform, but 'odroid-utility.sh' just reports I am already on the latest version, which is:

Code: Select all

bla@bla:~$ uname -a
Linux bla.bla.bla.org 3.10.103-166 #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Sep 19 15:03:34 UTC 2016 armv7l armv7l armv7l GNU/Linux
Some time ago I tried to forcefully install one such an image, but the installation failed and even corrupted my C1 to no boot.
You see, I have been playing with btrfs, so the newer kernel the better...

And what am I supposed to do in order to upgrade at least to 3.10.104-181 (that @meglome seems to be running on) ?
Yes, I did ran apt update already.
