Disabling HDMI Audio

Unread post by guidorage » Sun Dec 28, 2014 3:12 am

I have a pair of Logitech S-150 usb speakers I would like to use on my Odroid, but the HDMI Audio output on my monitor is not letting me use them as the audio output. Is there anyway I can disable hdmi audio output and get the Odroid to output audio through the USB speakers?

Have you tried the pulse audio control GUI? Or are you running android?

Im currently running Lubuntu, and I have tried the Pulse Audio GUI, but the only option it gives me is to use AML-M8AUDIO which appears to be the HDMI audio.

Maybe post the output of "dmesg | tail" immediately after plugging it in.

Pulse audio will show only the internal one. For using the usb sound use

aplay -l

this will list all devices then create ~/.asoundrc and add the following the audio is outputted to usb device. Instead of "Set" in card name use the one for your card. This is the one for Cmedia USB from odroid. Reboot the system

pcm.!default {
type hw
card Set
}

ctl.!default {
type hw
card Set
}

I did it to use a usb headset on my C1...output device works well, but the mike doesn't

odroid@odroid:~$ aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: AMLM8AUDIO [AML-M8AUDIO], device 0: AML PCM dummy_codec-0 []
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: AMLM8AUDIO [AML-M8AUDIO], device 1: SPDIF PCM dit-hifi-1 []
Subdevices: 0/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: headset [Sennheiser USB headset], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
odroid@odroid:~$ sudo leafpad ~/.asoundrc
[sudo] password for odroid:

~/.asoundrc file : headset is the name of my usb device

pcm.!default {
type hw
card headset
}

ctl.!default {
type hw
card headset
}

in pavu control , input device baregraphe moves the same way as in the output device baregraphe, ...

Is there something to add to make the mike of the headset working ?
