Last Production memory issue prior EOL

Post by titoche78 »

Dear ,

I have bought 32 Odroid C1+ prior end of life. (12.02.2021)(see serial under)

This board were installed with a headless linux debian image jessie (we do around 300 same products prior this last batch so image was tested for a while)
On the last production of 30 , i got now around 7 having the OS crash . (on boot or after few hour of used)

I ran a memtester on one and the ssh got stuck during process - see log under.

Have you ever detected any issue in production on RAM , or assemble of last batch produced.

We made slight over 9000 C1+ units in the last production batch last January.
We have no report about the DRAM failure issue so far.

As far as I heard 'memtester' utility might not work properly after kernel booting.
It seems to be a main reason why x86 Linux distros place the memtester item in the grub boot loader.

BTW, have you run this @meveric's Debian Jessie image?

Dear
Yes it is the base of the image we are running.
We have some board that are cashing , freezing and mainly a lot that work properly.
I didn't see how toi search to understand this freezing is not DRAM , the board stop working with no reason few sec after boot or after several hours .
If not DRAm , where how to search ?

Do you use a stable 5V/2A PSU something like this via barrel jack?
https://www.hardkernel.com/shop/5v-2a-p ... eu-plug-2/

It must be very worth to keep measuring voltage of the 5V rail on the 40pin header in the booting process with a DMM.
The voltage on the 40pin header has to be 4.8Volt at least in the booting/running period.
