VU7A Plus mounting holes sticking out

Unread post by rembunator » Thu May 16, 2019 6:24 pm

Hi,

I'm replacing the content of the popup display in my car with an ODROID-XU4 and VU7A+.

The existing screen is mounted in a frame with almost the exact same height as the vu7A+ except for the mounting holes which are sticking out.

My guess is they can be cut off (carefully of course).
But I'd like to be certain they can.

Best Regards,
Remco

You can cut those mounting holes since there is no signal.
Very carefully cut them to avoid any bending stress to the PCB.

Out of curiosity - what can you use to cut through a PCB? I doubt a standard office cutter will do it.

Why not? Is the cut not clean enough?

A stanley knife will do it ;)
