You need to flash the image into a SD card even you want to use the eMMC.
It will install the OS image from SD to eMMC at the first booting. It is a sort of "sd2emmc_installer" to update the boot-loader.

Uncompressed file size is 1,821,376,512 bytes.
It must be flashed into the SD card. Put the SD and eMMC into XU3/4 board together and select the boot media to SD card.
The installation process took about 10 minutes for 32GB eMMC.
If you use 64GB of eMMC, it takes longer due to the media formatting process.

Does anybody have a straight-to-eMMC image? My odroid doesn't boot from SD card.

I've seen that bluetooth support is available for CM14.1.

Do you know if I can port the driver to CM13.0 and get the bluetooth working?

Thanks for CM-13 binary image (and upcoming CM-14;) for ODROID-XU4 -- works fine (except for SPI -- next question...;)

But: where can I download and rebuild CM-13.0 sources for the XU4 ?
I only found the kernel sources for CM-13/XU4 but no android sources:-(

and about the kernel sources: I rebuild the kernel image (zImage-dtb) and wrote it to eMMC sector 1263,
but then I run into SElinux issues only having 29 entries (instead of 30) in the selinux policy database
(I have to redo that setup to get the exact error msgs...)

Thanks for any help & sources,

Harald

How do I get SPI working for CM-13.0 ?

trying to access SPI from my kernel driver I get this error msg

Code: Select all
[c6] spi spi1.0: No CS for SPI(0)

I found a hint 'To use the SPI, ... kernel version to “3.10.83” or higher' here http://odroid.com/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=en:spi_lcdshiled

but where can I get such a kernel (source) for the CM-13.0 setup ?

Thank you very for your hard work, have been working on raspberry Pi 3 for a while now change for xu4 so much faster for Nintendo 64. I try linux ubuntu that work awesome but for games retro it's hard to configure so I change for android with google play store that is great.

Hi,

Are you directly updated to CM-13.0 from 4.4 ? CM-13.0/CM14.1 coming with emulated internal storage. This means your data partition and sdcard share same space. Which is more than 2GB(depends your sd size).
I Can suggest you update to CM-14.1. Please read first post how to install CM-14.1

i'm running with the micro sd 128gb, i try to full the 2gb internal just to see if they will say the same and yes not enough space

do you think it's from the format part that i didn't do properly, i'm using sd formater program and transform the card in fat32 after because after 32gb it's exfat.

Hi, no The self install don't work on micro sd maybe, and the odroid run endlessly hehe.

I start using is the formatter Quick format and after I use ease us partition master to put back FAT32 instead of exFAT. After I start win32diskimager and write and check the md5. No usually everything is install the self install in the microSD when I start the Oldroyd he just never stop for 20 minutes so I stop and probably I have to install the android 4.4.4 and update for CM 13 and back to 14 CM but still always saying that I have only 2 GB internal storage I don't know why it's weird what I do run somewhere do I need to use that EM MC(I don't have yet) instead of micro sd.

Right now I will try to do a full format instead

Thank you man for your help

I just tested sd_selfinstall image today, i write it to a 8GB Sandisk Microsd without any problem.
Can you try with other Sdcard/Sd-to-Microsd adapter/USB-Sd Dongle ?

My format yesterday took forever to 128gb so today after work I'll try some other option.

What is the exactly process you do when format your micro sd and selfinstall, maybe there something wrong at the end. Do you think win32diskimager turn it to 2gb this is where I see it change to small amount gb

You don't need pre-format your microsd. Just write selfinstall image. Also selfinstall procedure on 128gb card can took a very long time e.g. more than a hour.

It is very normal.
I just tried Android 7.1 image.
I flashed android-cm-14.1-alpha-0.3-sd_installer-odroidxu3-20161129.img on my 64GB SD card and verified with our win32diskimager V1.3. http://odroid.com/dokuwiki/doku.php?id= ... diskimager
And I put the card into my XU4 and powered on. The red & blue LED were solid on and I waited 1.5 hours and the CM14.1 ran beautifully.

That is normal. After flashing the image the partition table used doesn't use the whole memory. When you first boot the card is formatted and the system is installed, and for 128GB this can take a while

We had a couple of 128GB microSD cards in our office but I couldn't find them now.
I've ordered a 128GB Samsung Evo+(UHS1) and I can test it within a few days.

I flashed android-cm-14.1-alpha-0.3-sd_installer-odroidxu3-20161129.img on a new Samsung 128GB EVO-plus card and verified.
But it failed due to a bug in the self-installation process (wrong partitioning?)

md5sum file contains md5 hash checksum for downloaded img file.
You need some program like WinMD5Sum to calculate downloaded img file md5 checksum then compare it with one in md5sum file.

Download
Code: Select all
http://oph.mdrjr.net/voodik/5422/ODROID-XU3/Android/CM-14.1/Alpha-0.3_29.11.16/android-cm-14.1-alpha-0.3-sd2emmc_installer-odroidxu3-20161129.img.7z

Write it to sdcard, connect both sdcard and emmc to Odroid, switch to SD boot mode, turn on board, wait until board automatically power off.
Remove sd card, switch to Emmc boot mode and turn on board again, wait until setup wizard appears.

can anyone tell me where I would find the ethernet settings to reconfigure for static IP addresses? I can't seem to find this within the network settings when I upgrade from 4.4

Thanks

Static IP address support only available in CM/LineageOS-14.1 builds.
