Yes, I know that :) but now I think it's better to have a bit older board but with better support :)

Since the XU2 is not a secret anymore, is it possible to release some specs (e.g. 2 or 3 GB RAM)?

My Bad. I was slightly confused because in the CNXSoft article he was not sure if the XU2 has 2 or 3GB RAM...

Same as XU with a lower speed SoC. (200Mhz less on the A15's)

For those desperate to have a 5420 dev board (with all 8 cores available on-demand) see:-

and http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... LrSTJECVaU for how it should work.

Interesting thing is,based on benchmark, the new mali t628 on exynos5420 is yet slower that new iphones PowerVR series 6 GPU by 8% and slower that Adreno 330 by 11%.
I'd expected a significant boost over 5410,and that is come, but not so huge to pass the others 2 GPU beast on the market.I'm waiting my nexus 5 to arrive, curious to stretch it with tweaks and benchmarks to see.
Anyways the 3GB of ram, overcome,IMHO the little difference in GPU performance.I'd prefer one more Gb of Ram,and most important at higher rate with same type (LPDDR3 too at 19xx where on XU we have 1800)and have a little slowerGPU (which we can at least overclock by a long range lik we did on mali 400MP4 in U2\X2 until 800mhz)
I'll wait for XU-2 from HardKernel...so much better support from company rather than Arndale.

I very much agree that HardKernel support is excellent, including Forum members.

We have no firm schedule yet.
I think the XU2 can be released in Q2 2014.

So now that it has been 3 months, I am curious how this new product is coming along.
Do you think you might be able to start taking pre-orders next month?
Would this new model be almost identical to the current XU? Or would there be changes to some of the ports?
Would it support basically the same accessories? In particular, will the UART still be 1.8V?

If we make any board based on current exynos chips.. it will be 1.8V.. that's the logic level that it works.
Nowdays all SoC's are lowering logic levels to reduce power consumption.

I think we'll probably see a new board on Q2.. not easy to tell :)
