procedure as follows...
if your not a very exp solderer then i dont suggest you do this..
apparatus required :
1x soldering gun rework iron
i x c-series board
1x hi-fi dac shield
1x 7 pin in line male header
2x 7 pin extended reach female headers..
some desolder wick to clean up stay solder left when extracting the headers...
i used new connectors as the removal process can render the old connectors unusable if your not very careful..
with the soldering gun remove both the headers e.g the hi-fi dac 7 pin header and the 7 pin header on the c-series board
on the c-series board solder a new straight male header to the underside of the board .leave 1-2 mm to get solder access
.if you are experienced you can heat the top side of the header and solder the underside..
that is it for the c-series board....it`s done
next solder a new female header to the upper side of the hi-fi dac shield... this you can solder as normal..
ok headers are done ..
now you can go ahead with assembly of the dac and c-series board.
.except now you require 1 more female header to connect the two boards it will need to be cut to size..
to choose your depth.and choose stand offs and hardware to suit your needs..
..assemble as normal..your ready for tunes..media etc..
software is normal..no need to play with that..it`s a pure physical hardware modification ..
