Numerous (non HEVC) TvHeadend users get better results using TvHeadend V4.0
Unfortunately that's not an option. HEVC is a nightmare with tvheadend 4.0 (or kodi < 17.0?).

And Mainline AML S9xx Linux Kernel support is picking up steam already.

Neil Armstrong from BayLibre has started testing LE on the C2 already. Software decoding only at this stage. ... 0/projects

BayLibre have been contracted by AMLogic to bring the AML Linux S9xx Kernel up to modern v4.1+ status.
