64GB Sdcard has 300mb free?

Unread postby newjerseyninja » Thu Jan 19, 2017 10:55 am

Hello,

I installed the android self-installing image v4.4 for my C1. I used a 64GB card.

It looks like the Internal Storage has a 2GB partition and a second Internal Storage has a 2GB partition.

How do I get access to the rest of my SDCard?

I'd like to put music on it, etc.

Which OS image did you install? Let me know the file name.

Also refer the partition tables in this link.

I don't really remember. I can check in a bit.

For Example, when I openup ES Fileexplorer is shows:

Picture: 19.5MB
Audio 5.56MB
Video 6.97MB
Document 7.87MB
Apps 393.82MB
Others 2.4GB

48% used.

This is a 64GB card though.

Freshly install the latest image (selfinstall-odroidc-eng-s805_4.4.4_master-443-v3.4.img) and let us know the result again.

Also check "fdisk" output in the terminal app.

Sorry,

It looks like there needs to be more to the fdisk command to get an output.

What should I write out?

thanks

Sorry. Android busybox might not support the fdisk command properly.
Try "df" command to check the partition sizes.

Something was wrong in your storage partition.
Flash the latest image (selfinstall-odroidc-eng-s805_4.4.4_master-443-v3.4.img) on your SD card.

Refer this guide to flash the OS image with "VERIFY" function.

The first booting might need 10~30 minutes.

It looks like its missing a bunch of apps. I can't use that version.

I'll just wait then, I guess.

You can install Google play on that.
Choose ARM - 4.4 - Pico package from http://opengapps.org/ site and follow this instruction.

Thank you for your work,

That said:

Why didn't you include the playstore in your android builds?

It makes Android pretty useless to not be able to install apps from the playstore.

I tried the more recent 4.4.4 3.4 build, but the link was bad.

I then tried 4.4.4 3.3, but again df is showing that it does not make the majority of the SD Card space available, just a few 1GB partitions.

I downloaded the playstore link that you provided and it is zipped. Android by default doesn't handle .zip files so this is again not helpful since I can't actually open this file with any tools provided by the image.

Kindly, think of what you are releasing from a user's perspective.

It is not included due to Google's license restrictions.

Did you follow the instruction in the link?
You should use the ODROID Utility app to install the Gapps package.
Open ODROID Utility app.
Select "Package install from storage".
